Rod & Reel Care

Fishing offshore, Chesapeake Bay or in any other brackish or saltwater body introduces your tackle to one of most extreme corrosive environments known to any sport. Add to this the fact that we are usually pushing our tackle to its limits as we all try to lighten up tackle while we continue to pursue record size game fish. Now more than ever we need to be sure we are properly caring for all of our equipment. Our rods, reels and other tackle are not immune to saltwater corrosion, nothing is. It only take a few minutes at the end of each day to care for all of your tackle. Skip a good clean up one time and you will immediately see corrosion begin to build up.

We recommend that you spray your rod & reels with Salt-Away and then wipe them down with a corrosion block. We use Corrosion-x extensively. Completing this process after each fishing trip will ensure that you keep ahead of the damaging effects of saltwater corrosion.
