RDT Fishing Team Recommendations:
- Have a variety of colors available for all situations
- Use dark colors early morning/overcast days; light colors other times
- Match the hatch.  Most squid in the NE Canyons is between 4" and 9", staying in this size range will help you put more tuna in the boat.

Why use skirt squids? Well, it depends your reaction style after a hook up. If you stay the course, then the shell style is probably best for you. If you frequently change direction or speed, then without a doubt, the skirt squid is for you. Maneuvers like that cause the skirt to inflate and retract, similar to a fleeing squid. Some Captains (including me) firmly believe that this additional action helps generate additional strikes after the first yellow fin hookup.
