RDTKL Tuna Spreads

Its no secret, trolling a single spreader bar with a few lures placed around it will produce strikes but you need a large bait spread to turn a school, consistantly get multiple hookups and put meat on the deck in short order. This is accomplished by using spreader bars, daisy chains and RDT Sport Dredges. Reel Draggin' Tackle offers complete trolling spread solutions for the price you pay for a single bar at some tackle shops.

Blue Fin Tuna Spreads

Rainbow Jet

This is the beginner or small boat spread. Most anglers start here when first getting into sport tuna fishing. I know several anglers today that swear that this is all they need.
- On a small spread like this, consistency and action are what is important. Reel Draggin' Tackle recommends that all of the lines complement each other. We recommend squid bars or slammer bars on the out riggers, a Big Bird Daisy Chain not far down the middle and Ballyhoo Slammer rigs on the flat lines.
- Over the years we learn time and again how important a consistent spread is to generate multiple hook ups. This is why when you surf our store you see similar color and size patterns in all of our lures and rigs. It is important to dress your lures similar. Ya sure, the lone stranger will get hit now and again, but your goal should be to get the attention of an entire school of Tuna, there by enticing multiple hookups on each pass. The only way to do that is to have enough in your spread to grab a school of tuna's attention. You cannot do that with miss matched lures and bars. You need a well thought out spread where all of the lures and bars complement each other.
