Reel Draggin’ Tackle™
"Signature Series" Spreader Bar Design The Spreader Bar |

![]() |
We searched for a small diameter lightweight stainless steel spring bar with the ability to hold up to the harsh saltwater environment we fish. Our bars are 316 stainless spring steel and will last years with proper care. Reel Draggin' Tackle offers spreader bars in 16 inch and 32 inch lengths. These lengths were specifically selected to provide maximum options, and how they are used depends on your boat configuration. The smaller 16 inch bars are great for small diameter outriggers, like Lee Skiff poles. They pull well from the tips of these outriggers; and also from the rod tips off each transom corner of smaller center console boats. The larger 35 inch bars work well from the center pole, transom corners of larger boats or from the tips of the larger diameter outriggers. The fundamental concept has been to design a SET of bars that can be pulled by all boats. Single spreader bars in the water are just not enough. We consider a three bar set the absolute minimum, and we run at least three all of the time. A typical setup for a 22 to 28 foot boat with light outriggers is using the 16 inch bars from each outrigger tip, and a 35 inch bar in the long shotgun position or way back down center. All other lines are deployed around the bars, which also act as teasers. |
