Date(s) of product testing: 07/09/06
Location of product testing:
OC, Md - Hot Dog
Product you are testing:
Rainbow Dredge with skirt teasers and Rainbow shell hook bait

1.  Do you like/dislike the product? (describe why/why not)
I like the potential the rig has as a teaser with a hook bait behind it on one rod
– very little drag allowed me to run it on an international 50 with very little bend in the rod.

2.   Would you make any changes to the product? (if so, what changes)
Yes, I had to rig a 5 ounce inline sinker in from of the dredge arms in order to get all the arms beneath the surface at 5.5 knots.  I slid a 6” rainbow squid over the inline sinker to camouflage the weight and match the rest of the bait ball.
RDT COMMENT:
The dredge is designed for light tackle.  The R&D Team recommends the use of a planer or downrigger to get the dredge 5 to 10 feet deep.

3.  How did the product hold up to the offshore game fish that you targeted?
No hits.

4.  Did any component (s) fail while you were hooked up?
No

5.  What did you land with the RDT product? (describe fish species and size)
Did not get any hits on the dredge, but did pick up our only fish on a green RDT spreader bar that I also had out.  Fish was a 50 # yft caught on the green bar fished in the center of the spread, 35 yards back.  Bar saved our day as this was our only fish for the box.  Pic included

6.  Provide any other comments on our products or service.
Thank you for the fast service/shipping I’ve received as a customer and a tester.  Will be fishing the next several weekends.  Hopefully will have many positive report results/comments to share.

RDT 2007 Update: As a result of Tom's feedback the RDT Sport Dredge was designed and entered service late in the 2006 season. The Sport Dredge is a great addition to any boat's spread.
