Reel Draggin’ Tackle Fishing Team Report – July 01, 2007 Details: Left the O.C. dock at 5:00am headed for the 30 to 50 fathom area around Poormans Canyon. Around 7:30 am we set out a spread consisting of two 32" Rainbow Squid Bird Bars (Style 3209B) on the outside short riggers, two Green Draggin Slammer Bird bars (Style 16112B) were run in the middle. We ran four skirted hoos on the long lines, the flats we changed out all day running skirted hoos, jets, cedar plugs and a drone spoon on a Carolina Planner. Most of the day we had at least ten lines out. Water temps were 69.5° upon arrival, the highest seen was 71 degrees. It was a very slow start, we had a vew short strikes in the morning and our first solid bite came around 10 am when all four spreader bars took off. Two came loose right away and two stayed hooked. We iced two 51# YFT. Then, it shutdown and the wind and waves picked up. We did not get another bite ans pickins were very slow for all of the boats out there. We picked up and made the long rough ride back to OC in 7 footers at 2pm.
